Overview
Clear, compelling content is important, but when you're speaking, it's not enough. Your message becomes much more vivid and persuasive when you're able to be present with your audience and focused on what matters in the moment. In this workshop, you'll learn to create better content and to speak more confidently and effectively, with authentic presence.

Our practical, experiential approach draws on years of teaching in communication, performance, and mind-body integration. The process is at times unconventional, often enjoyable, and surprisingly effective.

Pre-Workshop Coaching
To help you hone your material for the workshop, we offer a guided process that includes four one-on-one coaching sessions by Zoom. We'll help you clarify what matters most, structure your ideas, and find authentic, impactful language that works well when spoken. When you're done, you'll have a 2-minute speech/talk/presentation, and you'll also have an approach you can rely on for the rest of your life.

Workshop Focus
In addition to developing your 2-minute speech/talk/presentation which you’ll use throughout the workshop, you’ll develop skills you can apply to a broad range of public speaking situations. In addition to content, we'll focus on:

Preparing to speak:

• Setting helpful goals, and dropping unhelpful ones

• Warming up mentally and physically

• Practicing effectively

Delivering your speech:

• Engaging your audience

• Developing greater presence

• Using nervous energy, and other challenges, to your advantage

Participants at our public speaking workshops come from a wide range of fields and professions, have varied goals and challenges, but share one trait: a desire to make fundamental, lasting changes in their public speaking.

These workshops are not the right choice for those seeking one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, these workshops are designed for people who want to develop their individual potential as public speakers, in an environment of healthy challenge and support.

Benefits of a Group Setting
While some people prefer private coaching, public speaking workshops offer one real advantage—the group setting. Being in a group allows you to face and learn from some of the biggest challenges and opportunities of public speaking.

Public speaking classes, like those offered by community colleges or Toastmasters, offer an excellent opportunity to practice with a group. Our public speaking workshops take this a step further: the learning is accelerated and condensed, and in a single, intensive weekend, it's possible to experience real and lasting change.
